Attendees heard from OWP/P|Cannon Design, The Anti-Cruelty Society, KPMG, German American Chamber of Commerce of the Midwest, and GATX about what they have done or plan to do for Earth Day/Earth Week. The Midwest Energy Efficiency Alliance (MEEA) created a new office policy based on strategies listed on the Green Office Challenge scorecard. They were gracious enough to share this resource so that other offices may implement similar policies.
McGuire Engineers created this resource as a solution to reduce the demand of their heating, cooling, and ventilation systems in their office.
OWP/P|Cannon Design shared their 2009 Green Purchasing Policy with us so that others may consider this resource when constructing their own policy.
Though not eligible to be a participant in the Green Office Challenge (outside of Chicago), we came across The Burke Group's (Christopher B. Burke Engineering, Ltd) Bike Transit Program at last years Bike to Work Week Awards Ceremony. Their program is truly remarkable and one that could easily be replicated at your office!
Chicago's Department of Environment collaborated with their Green Team and property manager to create these recycling signs. Recycling programs can vary by building, so please feel free to make modifications to these to include the recyclable items in your office. Paper Recycling Combined Recycling
